Cyst in eye
I took my 17 year old son to an optomalogist for anual eye appointment. They recommened we see a Cornea specialist. We saw one today. He wants to do an ultrasound. He said my son has a cyst in the front of the cornea that can be serious. He didn't tell us what serious meant or what it could be. He also wants to do a special ultrasound that only few places do. I am sick with worry on what this could be. Can you tell me what he possibly thinks it could be and what does he mean by serious. He said it couldn't cause blindness and it wasn't a tumor.

Dear Scaredmother02,

I would recommend that you take one step at a time until a diagnosis can be made.  I am unsure of what layer of the cornea this was observed.
