DS comment

by jennabug93, Aug 10, 2008 06:58PM
this isn't a question just a comment but... i am 14 yrs old i was diagnosed w/ DS when i was 3 yrs old. i am the typical case female, left eye, and type 1. for any mother or child or anybody else who has this condition or has a loved one w/ this condition, for me it has been no big deal. i was supposed to have surgery when i was 6 but i got my glasses the day before surgery and they corrected it. and i have been stable for many years. i still tilt my head slightly to the right and my left eye occasionally floats inward while i'm talkin to people but i'm used to it/ and people do comment on it sometimes but it's just part of who i am and i'm happy to tell them about DS. so dnt b scared if u or a loved one has DS i'm sure u will make it through and if ur child or a child u know has it and they have to have surgery tell them they get to have any flavor "sleep juice" or gas they want lol. i was sad to be told i didn't need surgery anymore because that's what i was looking forward to. so just take this to heart and don't be scared they or you will turn out fine.
i am also a freshman in all honors classes and a competitive dancer so there's wut u have to loopk forward to a normal smart active child w/ a slight condition but they will love you the same no matter what.
p.s. God made you or a loved one like this for a reason.
