DSEAK

I am trying to locate a DSEAK surgeon with lots of experience, highly recommended by his peers, and excellent outcomes. I would appreciate any suggestions from post DSEAK patients or M.D.'s.

More and more DSEAK is replacing corneal transplation for many diseases notably Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy.

If you live near Kansas City our Discover Vision Centers corneal surgeon Steve Stechschulte MD is very experienced and was one of the first in the Midwest to do the procedure.

You can also go to www.aao.org  and look for a corneal surgeon closer to you. Then you can call their office ask about DSEAK and their experience with it.

I had DSAEK surgery Dec of 2007, actually just short of .4 months .  My vision is just great at 20/25, and it has been that since my 6 week checkup post surgery.  I do not know where you live, but my DSAEK surgeon is in Houston Texas, at Houston Eye Associates, His name is John Goosey, and I am very proudly recommending him to you.  I met people from all over the US in his waiting room who came to him for the DSAEK surgery.  You absolutely cannot go wrong with this fabulous surgeon, who has done many DSEAK surgeries, and that is a qualificaation that you MUST have when choosing a surgeon.  Dr. Goosey also teaches other doctor how to do DSAEK.  There are doctors who say they do DSAEK, but then you find out they have only really done very few.  If that's the case, just keep looking.
