Dark brown eyes turning gray

I have dark brown eyes that are turning gray from the outer rim toward the pupil. The process has been taking years.  At the beginning I though it was the iris changing color, but now it is clear that the gray shadow is allocated between the iris and the cornea.

No pain and no vision problems (other than my natural astigmatism)  I am 38 and never use contact lenses.

I am not overweight.  My grandmother suffered senile diabetes and cataracts at 80

Should I be worry?

Dear alexpizarro,

You should definitely obtain a complete eye examination by an eyeMD to determine whether the coloration you describe may be that associated with high cholesterol or other diseases which may cause deposits within the cornea.
