Dark spot on the whites of my left eye?

I woke up this morning and noticed s dark spot on my eye, to the right of my pupil, left eye. I have included a picture. https://imgur.com/a/T19wx Any idea what this is?

You need to see an ophthalmologist. it could be a "pingueculum" that is inflamed; it could be "episcleritis"  not likely a growth would shop up that fast.

And are any of those harmful? Even if seek treatment? It had happened overnight and I feel no pain or discomfort and my sight is completely normal

That is a much better picture than the first you posted and why we cannot make diagnosis from photos people post. But this better post does look like a harmless "subconjunctival hemorrhage" which as you suggest is a tiny blood vessel that breaks sometimes due to cough, sneeze, strain, lift, medicals like asprin and sometimes "just happens" I've had 2 myself. WIth no pain and no decrease in vision and this better photo it should clear like a bruise in 7-14 days.
