Darkening of sclera in 17 month old

My 17month old little boy was diagnosed with adenovirus and the sclera of his eyes darkened to a greyish color and became blood shot.  It has now been 3 weeks and I have seen very little improvement.  His twin sister is fine.  I am concerned that his eyes continue to be effected.  Can someone please tell me what could be wrong with him.  He is eating fine, drinking his juice, water and milk with no issues.  He continues to play and have no other issues besides with his eyes.

Adeno-virus infections can takes months and months to clear if it gets in the cornea and causes corneal inflitrates. It can sometimes take 4-6 weeks for the redness and inflamation (inflammation) to clear.

Discuss your concerns with your ophthalmologist.
