Daughter doesn't want to wear her prescription

I wrote here about my 3.5 year old daughter who is highly myopic (about -8 in each eye). Today I picked up her new glasses, that have (upon my request) slight undercorrection,  -6.5 and -7. She doesn't want to wear new glasses!  She wants to wear her old glasses that have -4 in each eye. She's been wearing them while the new glasses were made and she gets around and watches TV just fine in them. Is there any harm for her to keep wearing half of her prescription or should we force her to wear the new stronger glasses? As an aside, the new glasses also are corrected for slight astigamatism in her left eye.
Thank you in advance for your response.

That much under-correction might foster refractive amblyopia. You should discuss this with your pediatric ophthalmologist. New glasses and new prescriptions are often "rejected" by children. You pediatric ophthalmologist can aid you in getting your daughter to accept the proper Rx.
