Detached Retina

I had surgery on 1-14-08 for a detached retina and everything was looking good, then on 3-11-08 the retina detached again and on 3-12-08 I had surgery to repair the retina.  My doctor said there was lots of scar tissue and that's why the detachment occured.  He also advised that my retina is sick. I'm having difficulty trying to understand why this happened. Your thoughts!

This type of question can only be answered by your Surgeon or someone that has actually looked into your eye. If you are not satsified with the answers then ask for a second opinion.

My retina also-re-detached because of scar tissue. I would call your doctor and ask him to clearly explain what happened. I didn't, and I stayed confused for a long time. Many doctors won't say a word unless you ask. I was terrified to ask, and the doctor told me nothing until I asked. Even then, his answers were incomplete and vague....until I quit him because he finally gave me a clear answer--when it was too late to help myself.. I think you will feel better, if you ask, if you know. I suggest that you tell your doctor to continue explaining your condition to you, as changes occur. If he does not, you can always seek another doctor.
