Dilation and Retinitis Pigmentosis

I have Retinitis Pigmentosis.  (I am 59 years old.)  I went in for glasses and eye tests and they dilated my eyes 2 times within 2 weeks.  Since that time, my sight has not been as clear as before the dilation.  My brother, who has the disease also, said he had the same experience when he went in for an eye test for glasses and they dilated his eyes.  Needless to say, we are frustrated, to put it mildly, because we need all the help we can get to see!  Could dilation in some cases hurt our vision for awhile or permanently?

The short answer is no.  Excessive light exposure is not good for RP but we're talking months to years.
