Disapearing Black Spots

Disapearing Black Spots

Hi, im a 16 year old male with no eye problems in my family.
For a while i've noticed occasionally (about 1-5 times a day) I'll get a small black spot appear near-ish the middle of my vision, but i cant really  tell because it disappears so fast.

I have many floaters, most transparent but a couple that are rather dark. Also.. a few days ago a floater appeared in my right eye (almost all are in my left) that was multi-colored, this was strange to me because all of my floaters are transparent/dark. I could see it pretty easily for a day, but it pretty much all but vanished after 2 days.

Thank you In advance.

Floaters are not multi-colored - usually just darkish or semi-transparent shadows in vision.  They generally don't come and go - but you can notice them more in certain lighting and vision situations.  It doesn't sound like you have anything terribly bad, HOWEVER, because of your  young age,  you should see and ophthalmologist to have a complete dilated eye exam.  Usually don't see floaters very often in 16 year olds.  I wonder if you might not be having ocular migraines as well??  Give your ophthalmologist a very complete thorough description of the symptoms, how long, when, what it looked like, which eye, other symptoms, headache?, colors, zig-zag lines in vision?  and anything else you can add.

I've only ever had one ocular migraine, that was over a year ago and it was pretty severe, most of my left eye vision went blurred for around a half an hour, the actual pain came after, but it was nothing unbearable.

I'll arrange going to see an ophthalmologist, but im not sure if theres one close by in Cornwall(England).

I get these black spots daily, and suffer severe migraines.  I am glad you are getting things checked out.  Some people get "migraines" without the pain - just the spots.  Weird, hey?  I think you should also consider seeing a Neurologist just to rule out anything in that area, as the eyes can be warning signs for other more serious issues - not to scare you, but just to be sure. :)
