My exam says I need the following ( below) , I don't really know what it means, after receiving glasses and not being able to see what I need to see the most , a computer screen about 18" in front of me the optician told me that I need bigger glasses, I find this hard to believe but am hoping someone can tell me if this may be correct, right now my previous glasses are a little smaller than my new ones but I am still able to see better out of my old ones. They said the new ones are stronger and need more space to make the progressive transition.
Below is my prescription, please let me know your opinion, thank you.
1 R +3.25 - 1.00 89, 32.0, 29.5
1 L +3.25 -1.00 90, 29.0, 26.5
You don't state your age, but since you need progressives, I am assuming that you are over 40. You are moderately farsighted (hyperopic) and have mild astigmatism. The problem with progressives in the current smaller frames is that there is not much room for the intermediate and reading portions. If you are having trouble with the computer distance, a larger frame with a larger intermediate area, might help. The other option is a bifocal where the top portion is for the computer and the bottom portion is for reading.
