Do I need two different doctors?

Diagnosed with cataracts. Ophthalmalogist found macular hole left and right eye. Why must there be two doctors performing, one for the cataracts and the other for the macular hole?

I have read about the face-down recovery for macular hole surgery, are there any other options?

Ophthalmology has grown so complex that even the brightest physician cannot have all the skills. In baseball it would be like asking the catcher to play centerfield and the shortstop to pitch or catch.

Generally macular hole surgery usually requires face down postioning. You can use the search feature to read the extensive posts about face down post op positioning.
