Doctor Says glasses won't help

Hello,

I went for an eye exam today and was told that glasses won't work for my left eye, which has astigmatism. I was told that my left eye is "lazy" and glasses can only improve my vision to about 80%. We tried several lenses which were all blurry, and then he told he none would be perfect. Is there any truth to this? To say the least it was a bit disappointing to be told that glasses can't provide me with clear vision. I've had glasses in the past and never encountered this problem. Thanks,

No way I can tell if what you were told is true or false. Assuming you are an adult I suggest you see a corneal Eye MD ophthalmologist. If your eye is amblyopic (won't see normal due to poor development) sometimes refrctive surgery like lasik will improve the vision.

Also if you are amblopic your children have a 20% chance of having the same problem. have them all checked by an Eye MD by age 3.
