Don't they find mega cisterna magna insignificant in the absence of other symptoms?

by Kre8Joy, Mar 18, 2008 09:07PM
I was  checked for MS and during the MRI of my brain, mega cisterna magna was mentioned on the MRI.  I remembered seeing that on an MRI after a neck injury several years ago and I assumed it was a normal part of the brain.  It is an abnormal formation in the brain that does occur in some drastic and tragic birth defects such as Dandy Walker Syndrome.  Of course, the person writing the question above and myself, who has always been rated at somewhat above average intelligence, and I am almost 60 years old and have not had a stroke--at least not yet.  Possibly, and since I am a person of joyous faith, something dark intended something unhealthy in our brains as they developed, but I believe Angel wings fluttered over my Mother's womb, early in her pregnancy and stopped it, preparing me for the happy, loving life I have enjoyed. Others may explain it as some accident of nature that by chance was not completed and so we have this little oddity that matters little or not at all but shows up on an MRI.  I am just so thankful that was all it was and it stopped there.  It is congenital, according to my neurologist, and nothing to worry about at all, at least in my case.  The neurologist who performed an EMG and nerve conduction test on me last week, said he would have to look it up, he remembered the terms, and knew it wasn't serious, but could not give me more detail than that.  You will find the term under Dandy Walker Syndrome, and that will scare you.  Just because your brain contains mega cisterna magna does not mean you have the Syndrome, which is obvious when you read about it.

This discussion is related to stroke - mega cisterna magna.
