Doxycycline and Floaters

I have blepheritis and dry eye and have started a course of this. I have tried many other things and I wonder if this has helped anyone or if the doc could explain how it helps. I am assuming it clears the bacteria with the bleph but can take 6 weeks. Also I have been on many eye meds for this condition and was wondering if any like azasite etc could cause increase in floaters. I have had them dialated 5 times and there is no tear or detatchment. Thanks

Doxycycline 100 mgm by mouth twice/day for 6 weeks and then once/day for 3-6 months is a common treatment of blepharitis and meibomian gland disease. It is not so much antibacterial as antiinflammatory and gets into the oild gland. That's the reason its also used for acne. There is a new product that is specific for blepharitis but I don't have the details or brand name. None of these cause floaters.

Hi Gina,

I have them for a month now.
I went yesterday to opthalmologist and he said I have to live with them , my brain will learn how to forget them. (I have hazy vision like u drank 2 pints or something).

Doxycycline i used that for chlamydia lol.....not for eye problems
mainly used for malaria, acne, STD, syphillis....

Floaters remain.....they don't go
Take care,
