Doxycycline for Blepharitis

Doxycycline for Blepharitis

I have blepharitis and am trying doxycycline - 50mg 3 times a day to try help it and the bloodshot eyes since last week. Been using lidcare, sterilid, eye drops, fish/ flaxseed oil and ointments for many months now with little improvement.

Came off roaccutane about 4 months ago which apparently made the blepharitis flare up so bad.

Are there any risks in using doxycycline ie. could it possibly make it worse? How long should it be before i start to notice any results? (if i do) 1-2 months?

Yes there are side effect to taking tetracycline like medications. READ THE PACKAGE INSERT ON YOUR MEDICATION OR THE SHEET THAT THE PARMACIST STAPLES TO THE MEDICATION.

Everyone READ ALL THE INFORMATION ON ANY PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION YOU TAKE.

It will take about 4-6 weeks to see improvement. Be sure you are also useing TheraTears SteriLid eyelid cleaner.

Yeah I read it, but wondering if theres anything that isn't listed eg. Side effect of Roaccutane was blepharitis basically and that wasn't on the package.

If you want the full info you can go to the manufacturer's web site or read the PDR description.
