Drusen

For the past 5 days I have had twitching to right eye.  I know this is usually caused from stress, fatigue, caffeine.  However, last night I started having pain with movement of the eye.  I was seen by Opthalmologist today and CT scan revealed multiple optic disc  drusen bil. eyes with no cupping to disc.  Could this be causing the eye pain and twitching?  I was told no specific treatment.  However, I was referred to neuro-opthalmologist.  Could the drusen be a/w eye pain and twitching?

No the optic nerve drusen would never cause eye pain or twitching. No treatment presently exists. OND are very common. I have had only one patient of hundreds that OND have caused vision loss the patient was aware of. Use the search feature and read about "myokymia" the most common cause of temporary eyelid twitching.
