by mike1111a, Mar 20, 2009 02:47PM
I am a male 62 years old.I wear a proclear mutlifocal contact lense in my left eye.The problem is when I am looking at a paper or a sign I close my L.Eye and open the vision goes from clear to a slight blurr. The doctor s telling me my eye is dry.I tryed rewetting drops and that doesn't appear to be the problem. I don't feel I have dry eyes.I told the  doctor my eyes appear to look wet and moist. The doctor told me who has the medicial Degree that is dry eye.The doctor has put me on Restasis two drops a day.I don't want to start using something for the rest of my life if that is not the problem. What is your opinion.
Thanks

At 62 you probably have some dry eyes.  Get a second opinion.  Dry eye diagnosis needs an eye exam.

I do have dry eyes and liquid drops have not helped.  Try using Genteal PM, an ointment for severe dry eye.  If it really helps then you probably have dry eyes.
