Dry Eyelids

For the last year or so, the inner corners of my eyelids are extremely dry and red. They are so dry and irritated that they have both developed slits from the dryness.  I have seen my internist, dermatologist and optometrist with no help. The outer corners are also dry and red.  The more irritated my eyes are, I end up rubbing them and making things worse.  To keep my eyes lubricated, I use Vaseline and non-preservative drops, but nothing completely clears it up.  What should I do next?  Is an optometrist the answer and has anyone else had this problem?

I have the exact symptoms.  Just for the last couple of months I have changed all my make-up to non- allergic.  That didn't work.  I put the vaseline on my eyes every night and I have tried the artificial tears, which makes my eyes feel better but does not change the condition.  I am going to try the Refresh-PM.  I don't have insurance, so I am searching for an over the counter solution. If you find anything that works, let me know.  Thanks.

An optometrist is rarely the answer. See an ophthalmologist, a MD physician eye specialist. Find one at www.aao.org

Try using Refresh-PM on the dry areas of your eyelids, doesn't bother if gets in eyes, available over the counter.
