Dry Eyes /Astigmatism

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to read my post.  so ever since I had jundice in 2000/2001 I started to suffer from dry eyes.  All I get offered is resthesis, "Azsite", DHA (fish oil), upper plugs, lower plugs, + otc drops and I also suffer from severe dry hands.  I am going through mercury detox and taking vitamines.  My thyroid isn't right and the meds aren't working so I am on iodorol and L-thyrosine (off now)and on niacine to lower my cholestrol.  all this get very expensive.  I tries steroid drops but it no longer works for me.  the one thing that did, got discountinued.  it was TEARS AGAIN W/ FISH OIL, YES WITH FISH OIL.  I tried patonl, Elastate to no sucess.  my eyes feel gritty and I feel very irretable and I feel on my last nerve and i just feel like i want to punch somebody all the time.  I just started w/ the DHA fish oil supplemnet cause' regular fish oil wasn't enough.  I also suffer from ITP, and my spleen get swollen sometimes off and on.  I am sure its all related some how but what else am i missing?  I already have an astigmatism in the right eye and a small one started to develop at the left eye now.  I wear glasses but w/ out correction to the astigmatism, unable to adjust, sever debilatating headaches.  
When i was on thyroid meds, my eyes were more dry.
I have been to the dry eye specialist and he said i have rosea of the eyelid and gve me "Azsite"but its not full solution.  i notice that after luch sometimes my eyes feel tired and the energy is drained out of my body
through the eyes like as if a breeze is coming out of my eyes.  Reading a book is unbarable.  and forget about looking at colors or shopping for cloths, it drive my eyes crazy and it herts.  Any recomandation for a good specialist in STL? or what should I do next? I just want to puch sombody, my dry eyes makes me feel so irratable?

thanks for the info. I will look it up. I am already on Resthesis, upper plugs, lower plugs, otc drops, fish oil, and "Azsite".

Both Washington U and St. Louis have great ophthalmology departments. Or you can go to www.aao.org and look for a cornea/external disease Eye MD near you.

Use the search feature to read about dry eyes and blepharitis. You may need oral deoxycycline for a couple of months.  You are likely a candidate for Restasis
