Dry skin on eyelids

About two-three weeks ago the skin around my eyes started becoming dry, especially around the inside corners of both eyes (above and below the eye) and I have a dry irritated spot on the outside corner of each eye on the bottom eye area.  My eyes are sometimes watery and the area itches. What can this be?

If it is an eyelid or drainage duct infection what is the most probably treatment that an opthamologist could recommend.  In other words, what will they do for it?  Thanks~

Probably an eyelid or drainage duct infection.  See an ophthalmologist.
