EKC eye infection

I contracted EKC about Feb. 8.  After a long seize my eye are finally not red.  the doc had to remove 2 membranes and 6 filaments off of my eye. Other eye also got it but was not as bad.  Now my husband has it.  It has been 10 days since my second eye contracted EKC.  My eyes are no longer watering so my doc says I am not contagious but I wonder if I am still contagious since my husband is in the middle of it.  Left eye is really red and swollen - he can hardly see out of it.  Right eye started today.  I have tried to be careful - not using same bathroom- wearing plastic gloves but who know.  Am I putting others at risk by returning to teach since my symptoms have cleared up? Thank you, Louise

No, you are not.

Even with contagious EKC with good hand hygeine you are less contagious than with cold or flue''
