A new study of 1313 women age 55 to 74 years of age found that GOOD DIET and EXERCISE reduced the risk of age related macular degeneration by 46%. Smoking doubles the risk of macular degeneration and makes it more likely to turn from the dry form to the more aggressive wet form.
Here's a million dollars worth of advice for FREE: don't smoke, eat a good diet rich in fruits, vegetable, fish, fiber, berries and nuts, low is saturated fat, low in high calorie processed carbohydrates. Exercise for 30 minutes at least 4-5 times per week. drink alcohol in moderation ideally red wine. have a social network and a benevolent belief system. Wear your seatbelt and drive carefully. Take 2-3 omega 3 fish oil pills/capsules daily. Do not become markedly overweight or obese.
