Effects of Dilation Drops Four Days Later

I'm a 35 year old female who recently had to see a retinal specialist for testing.  All my tests came back fine, which is great, however, I am concerned about the dilation drops they used.  I'm not sure what they were called, but they were administered Friday morning.  I had to wait an hour for my eyes to fully dilate before seeing the specialist (I was told these are stronger drops than those used for my usual eye exam).  I was told the effects could last 24 - 48 hours.  It is now Monday afternoon, and while the light sensitivity and blurred vision seem to have mostly passed, my eyes are still quite dilated.  Not as much as before, but definitely not normal.

Is it possible for the effects of these drops to last even longer?  Is it okay to have somewhat dilated pupils four days later, or should I be concerned.

I will bet you have green or blue eyes.  Dilating eye drops can definitely last 4 or more days in young people with lighter colored eyes, especially if you got the 'retina level' dilation to begin with.

Those drops are the worse, I had to use two times a day for a week straight after I had eye surgery and after I was done with that week, my eye stayed dilated for about 3 weeks.  Hopefully you are ok and you wont have to get surgery, its been 5 months and one of my pupils still stays slightly bigger than the other one, but thats not from the drops, its from the surgery.

Thank you for sharing your experience.  That sounds rough, and I'm sorry you had to go through all that.  My pupils are almost back to normal, so I think there's light at the end of the tunnel (finally!) :)
