Episcleritis and Steriod Drops

Hi Dr,

I was recently diagnosed with episcleritis by a uveitis specialist. He prescribed me with Prednisolone Acetate eye drops 4x/day for 2 weeks. After four days, I have seen only a little improvement with the redness of my eye.

I was wondering if you knew how long the redness would typically last?

Thanks!

It may take a long time to improve or the problem could be chronic and never totally get better.  It just depends on your individual case.  If it is minor and temporary if will get better fairly soon but a serious, chronic case could last many months or years.  Talk with the specialist that is what they are there for.
