Erythromycin

Can too much Erythromycin in a newborn baby's eye have negative side effects? I have pictures of my baby when she was just born and it looks as though the nurse put a whole tube of Erythromycin in one eye. Now that eye is tearing all the time and even appears a bit lazy. Could this be from the Erythromycin.

Thanks Doctor.

No.  See a pediatric ophthalmologist. Ask your pediatrician to refer you. Could be a blocked tear duct, could be ptosis or strabismus. Not e-mycin caused.
