This patient support community is for discussions relating to eye care,
cataracts,
glaucoma,
retinal detachment, eye infections,
misaligned eyes, intra-ocular implants, refractive surgery (
LASIK and CK), glasses, contact lenses,
amblyopia, eye injuries,
dry eyes, ocular allergy,
eye pain and discomfort, pediatric eye disorders, eyelid and tearduct surgery, poor eyesight, and eye surgery.
So, how do we support each other? Most Qs posted here are highly specific and cannot be properly answered by laypeople. I wouldn't want to receive advice from someone who has had no ophthalmology training. Would you?
I can reply to a question if and only if it involves the same condition I've dealt with. Otherwise, my reply won't do any good to the poster.
This is why a patient-to-patient forum doesn't work. It should be abolished ASAP.
And while I myself am no doctor I certainly have learned a few things throughout the years, and if people post a question here in the patient forum, I believe that they expect experience based answers.
All I was asking is that this type of knowledge be shared.
