Exchange of IOL

Exchange of IOL

Hi.
My age is 26, i had by Birth Cataracts.. My eyes was operated (IOL implantation) when i was only 9 years old with time my eye ball size increases and my Nearsightedness increases to -17 for right eye and -12 for left.
2 months back i have gone thorugh exchange of IOL for my right eye and it is working fine for me ,now i need no glasses for negative numbers but now i have to wear glasses for reading purpose ,the now for my reading glasses is +2.5.
After the Surgery i am facing a slight dispersed which get more prominent at night when i travel aroung the streets.

i want to know about few things about my case.
1) was that IOL exchange is a perfect solution for my case should i go for Exchange of IOL solution for my right eye too which has -17 nos?
2) Why i am feeling slight dispersed vision problem after the surgery of right eye,how long it will take to recover?
3) is there any way so that i can overcome my +2.5 nos which arises after the surgery?

i am by profession a software engineer and also doing MBA. kindly guide so that i can overcome my confusions.
Waiting for your replies.
Thanks in advance.

1. You have had an extremely good result for being -17 prior to surgery.
2. Your problem could be due to the IOL (dysphotopsia/ optical abberations), clouding of the posterior capsule, IOL decentration, macular disease, corneal disease. Only your surgeon Eye MD can tell for sure.
3. Short answer: glasses, contact lens or when the other eye is done ask them to leave you somewhat nearsighted (perhaps -1.50) that will reduce your need for reading glasses. You are going to see best with progressive bifocals (no line)

Thank you so much for your reply.

i  told the doctor about the dispersion of vision proble(for left eye) but he told me that it is in adjustment proces and it will take time but it already took 2 months.

one more thing  i had only done with the surgery for my right eye which had the -12 Number.
i still have to gone through the surgery of my right eye which have -17 nos

Yes I understand your other eye needs surgery. You will need to discuss with your surgeon what power to shoot for on the second eye. If you go for 0.0 your other eye should well at distance without glasses but you will need glasses for reading and computer. However if you opt to leave nearsighted -1.50 you will have good intermediate vision (shopping) and computer and in good light with average size print will likely be able to read.  The -1.50 eye will not see well for long distances (without a -1.50 glasses RX to look through)

Thanks for your responses.

Today i have consulted with my doctor and told him about the dispersion of vision problem . He took the OCT and declared the my eye is perfect there is no disease to treat. I told him that i am feeling the dispersed vision(or slight dual vision) specially at night or while looking at lights in day i also some time feels clouds like thing infront of my eyes. But doctor is insiting every thing is perfect . I am confused .

i have no doubt on the competency of my doctor. but some time i feel that he is hidding some thing . my surgery has past 2 months  i am still using eye drop (Azopt)prescribed by doctor
