Eye Flashes

I got hit in the eye with a basketball a while ago and went to an optometrist after seeing flashes everytime I looked down than up.  After 6 or 7 months I was still getting a few flashes though not at often as before and went to an Optomologist this time who said that my eye had probably changed shape after being hit and that my eye is probably tugging on the optic nerve.  My question is will the eye ever change its shape back so that it stops tugging on the nerve.  It feels like sometimes my eye muscles or eye gets tired due to making quick eye movements too much.

I'm sure you misunderstood what the ophthalmologist was saying. The basketball will not cause a permanent change in the outside shape of your eye. It momentarily deforms the eye and that can pull the vitreous loose from the back of the eye. Also its highly unlikely that any eye fatigue is due to your injury 7 or more months ago.

so is this more of just a PVD event that is still running its course?  I work on the computer for work so its it possible that, that eye is now more sensitive to staring at a screen all day?

No one can tell you for sure. Some people do experience some flashing for months to over a year after injury. i have several in my practice. Key event is whether it gets worse, flashes become brighter, more frequent, occur during day without eye movement or is accompanied by showers of floaters or loss of vield of vision. If so emergency visit by to the ophthalmologist.
