Eye Flashes

I've been noticing flashes at night on the outside edge of my left eye when turning my head. Also sometimes  when I'm chewing. I've had eye doc dilate my eyes 3 times over the last 4 months and she said everything looks fine. Could these be Phosphenes? And how long to these last?

They can.  As the vitreous gel in your eye continues to liquefy it will tug on the retina less and create fewer phosphenes.  You may have them from time to time for a long time to come, but they should lessen.  Perhaps they will go away all together.  The good thing is that they are generally harmless.  Unless you notice a big increase in the flashes especially accompanied by a shower of tiny floaters, you don't need to worry.

Yes, it sounds like phosphenes.  Use the search feature to read about PVD.  If you've been examined by an ophthalmologist and he or she said they see nothing, than don't sweat it.  It's normal and you get used to it.
