Eye Floaters and optomap

by ICF2007, Apr 25, 2007 12:00AM
Hi,

I am seeing Floaters from last two monts. I went to see eye doctor when first time i started seeing foaters. First doctor told me that they have new technology called "optomap" which can detect if i have any other serious problem due to floaters. So, he did an optomap in both of eyes and he said i do not have any problem. They just simple folaters.  My question is How good is optomap to rule out i do not have any retinal proble like tear or detachment?

Then i read forum that diluted eye exam is the best. So, i went to another doctor and he did an diluted eye exam and he used  "Slit Lamp Examination" and said  i do not have retinal tear or detachment like problem. Is "Slit Lamp Examination" is good enough to detect retinal problem?

Now last week i saw two new folaters. Should i go again and redo my eye exam? I am confused when i should go for exam if i see new folaters? If you could plz tell me what should i do each tme i see a new folater would be very helpful. I feel mentally sick when i see a new floater. Is it normal with everybody? I need some support. Please help me.
