Eye Problems

I'm being treated with medication for high blood pressure.  Since taking it has been affecting my vision.  I see pulse flashes and if I try to focus on something at a distance, it's as if the central vision is fading.  I called my Primary and they took me off the Beta Blocker for blood pressure.  It's calmed down some.  I was advised to see my Opthamalogist.  Can't get in to see her for another day.  I had a past history of being borderline glaucoma (by another doctor) and my current opthamologist took me off Betoptic and said she felt I didn't need it.  Now I'm worried that I may have glaucoma (it runs in my family).  I hope I don't lose my vision.  I've always did what my doctors tell me to do.
I'll find out tomorrow what is going on.  If she doesn't find anything wrong (like the last time); then I'm seeing a different doctor.

Dear Katie633,

I would recommend that you seek the care of your eyeMD. If you feel you have had a sudden loss of vision, call the office immediately.

Saw my Opthomologist and she took different test and checked me over very thoroughly.  She felt that my Thyroid could have a lot to do with my eye problems and also mentioned the possibility that it could be a neurological/optical problem.  She's going to do a field of vision on my eyes to see if I still have the range of vision.  Basically, she's saying it's either caused by an Endocrine problem or a Neurological problem.  Come to think of it, I didn't have these problems as often until I had  been put on Levothyroxine and had it increased twice.  Each time it's increased, they seem to get worse.  Although, according to the drug brochure, you can have eye problems until the body adjusts to the medication.  Plus, the high blood pressure medication they just put me on, only aggravates the condition.
