Eye dilation after effects?

Eye dilation after effects?

On Friday afternoon I went to see my Ophthalmologist because I've been seeing after images when I look at object that have contrasting colors to their backgrounds.  I am also having some light sensitivity issues, mainly lights burning into my vision at a much faster rate than usual.  My doctor dilated my eyes and performed an exam and saw nothing wrong, but she did order a couple of tests.

Later Friday afternoon/evening when my eyes were still dilated, I found that if shook my head or moved my head to look across the room I would see a shaking shimmer type vibration thing in my vision.  It was very strange and I don't remember having that happen before.  I tried calling the clinic after hours, but they only accept emergencies and I didn't think it was an emergency.  Once the dilation wore off it stopped happening.  But now, a day later I'm noticing that my after images and light sensitivity issues are worse.

I intend on calling the clinic first thing Monday morning, but I'm hoping to find out if dilation drops can aggravate these issues.  I sure would like to know what's going on and if there's anything I can do to make it stop.

It was probably vitreous floaters.   I would not worry about it.

I have a lot of floaters, so that could have been it.  Thank you.
