Eye disorders cased by anxiety

It's been some years not, perhaps 3 or more, that i have been experiencing very severe society anxiety. I can't look someone right into the eye/face while talking or even walk among the public with my head straight vertical. All because, i have this feeling that my eyes are little too heavy and is limpy, thus, i always fear people may misinterpret it as myself winking at them. Even when am alone, i feel that my eyes are heavy.. I have dark patches under my eyes. When i am at school or any other place than my house, my eyes always get dry requiring me to carry a humidified handkerchief or rushing towards a tap every 30 mins or so. I have the feeling that something got into my eyes, this would be probably some self preservation mechanism when i keep my eyes open for a long period of time.  I am quite sensitive to light, this is the case only when i am among other people.. In all, my vision is perfect with no spots and i can see quite far. I took an appointment with a optician who confirmed this...

Now i am worried that these symptoms are related to my anxiety and stress or it is something else..

Given your anxiety, you would be better off having a complete eye exam (including dilated eye exam) by an eye MD/ophthalmologist which will confirm that there is nothing wrong with your eyes or help you get treatment if you suffer from any eye condition such as dry eye etc.  You can find one in your area at www.aao.org.  You should also make sure you seek help for your anxiety and agoraphobia as some people do very well with a combination of medication and counselling to deal with this debilitating condition.  Good luck.
