Eye flashes -- How much of an emergency?

Okay so I recently (less than 3 weeks ago) had laser surgery to fix minor retinal detachment. I'm supposed to see the eye doctor again on Wednesday. But now I'm seeing a few occasional flashes of light in that eye. How much of an emergency is this? I'll go to the eye doc Monday morning first thing, but I'm wondering if it's something I should be looking for help on during the weekend (?).
Any ideas?
