Eye floaters

by dileerl, Sep 10, 2009 08:23PM
Whether botox caused my eye floaters or not through temporary ptsosis, I have many many floaters now in both eyes in my whole field of vision.  They are mostly webs and long hairs but a few spots too.  I have been to my optometrist and 2 opthamologists now in the past 3 months.  I did have a post vitreous detachment in my right eye.  But all is fine.  They tell me that I have to live with them.  It is effecting my daily life.  I can't even golf now without feeling like there is a swarm of bees around my head.  I live in a snow globe.  I do blame it on botox.  However my question to you is my floaters seem to be getting worse and will they eventually get better?  I absolutely am very depressed about my eyes right now.   I had no problems until I started having botox and now it is affecting my vision.  HELP.

This discussion is related to botox causing floaters?.

The  floaters are not related to botox.  If the floater persists after 6 to 9 months you can have surgery to remove them.  Main risk RD about O.5 to 1%.

Floaters are highly annoying.  You do learn to live with them thou.  I've had them for 15 years about (from age 25), and they have gotten much worse in the last 3-4 years. Mostly noticable when outside or in light surroundings.  Dark sunglasses outside helps a lot (personlly I can't even be outside without filtering light) I'd carefully weight the risk vs. benefit b4 considering a vitrectomy.
