Eye injury

A month ago I was temperately blinded by a very powerful spot light. I had a large black spot in the center of my vision that gradually faded to a light purple ring over the next 3 weeks. My vision is blurred and my left eye is painful. The headaches are constant since the incident.  I am now seeing a pink tint, white spots and stars through my left eye. I have seen 4 different doctors and none can see anything wrong. I had perfect vision before and now I can not see clearly, once I get a Rx filled a week later when I pick up the glasses the Rx has changed again. I have done this 3 times. It seems that the right eye is recovering but the left one is getting worse. Any suggestions of what to check for.

Dear Maggiejw,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD and undergo a complete eye examination including dilation, Amsler grid, color vision and visual field testing to determine the diagnosis.

There are 3 kinds of eye professionals, Optometrist, Ophthalmologist, and Opticians. Have you seen an Optometrist? That's weird that they didn't say anything about that, did you say what happened? Make sure you go to a well recommended Optometrist
