Eye issues

Actualy I have two questions if I may.  Sometimes the top and bottom eyelid of my left eye feels as though it is twitching.  It does not shut but I can feel a twitch, like muscle spasms in my eye.  I notice it occurs when I am stressed or have been reading for a prolonged period (greater than 4 hours) of time.  Is there a medical term for this.
The second question is sometimes out of the blue, it seems as though I can see a tear roll down the eyeball of the same eye.  Is there a medical term for that as well.  I am asking because I have an appointment with my opthamologist coming and I want to do some research before hand so that I can have a productive visit.  Thank you for your response.

First problem is due to stress.

Second problem may be due to an intraocular problem.  See the ophthalmologist.

DMac, you might want to google 'blepharospasm,' a term for eyelid twitches.  As Dr. O says, they seem to be mostly related to stress, fatigue, etc., and are not significant unless they're of the type that actually causes your eye to snap shut against your will.
