Eye mole

My eye doctor told me that I have a mole on the back of my eye.  My next appointment isn't until the 21st, therefore, I just wanted more information about it.  Has the mole just grown on my eye?  Why didn't other eye doctors notice it?  Can a mole be removed?

This discussion is related to mole in eye.

Couldy you please explain the origin of choroidal nevi? Do they grow as a person ages? I have one but it has only just been recognised despite the fact I have always had regular eye exams. I am 51.

Most moles in the back of the eye are choroidal nevus (plural nevi). Most are benign. Be sure you are under the care of an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Find one at www.aao.org

Treatment is usually take a picture of it, sometimes do OCT or ultrasound and just observe.
