Eye muscle fibrosis

Eye muscle fibrosis

I had aMRI scan and they found a slight enlargement on the top part of the muscle. I went into hospital
and had a biopsy done. Now they say it is like fibrosis on the muscle. My right eye can look left right
and down but not up. When looking straight ahead I see double and when I tilt my head backwards I can
see perfect. What is the cause of this and can it be rectified. At the moment I am on corterzone tabs, eight
a day. Is there any help.

Eye muscle fibrosis is a serious concern. You need to combine your current care with a Oculoplastic/Orbital specialist (someone who is specifically trained in diseases of the Orbit). There are a number of things which can cause fibrosis of the extraocular muscles: Thyroid or Thyroid Eye Disease (fatty changes), Orbital Pseudotumor (Idiopathic Orbital Inflammation), and some congenital causes (non-inflammatory) of muscle fibrosis. Sometimes one, 2 or all muscles can be affected. You need to see the specialist I recommended. Best wishes.
