Eye pain

Female 58 - had laser surgery one month ago for small horseshoe retinal tear.  Everything was fine with my two week checkup and I could resume normal activities.  Two days later I got the flu with high fever, nausea, vomiting, headache, dry cough. The flu would not go away and was diagnosed 5 days ago with Pneumonia in my right middle lobe and put on Levofloxacin 750mg @ 1X for 5 days. Today is my final day of taking the drug.  Two nights ago woke up from sleep in middle of night with terrible headache on my left side about the eye I had the laser surgery.  The headache went away shortly after getting up for the day.  Last night as soon as I laid down to bed I got the bad headache in the same place along with eye pain in my left eye.  I took two aspirins to ease the pain.  They eased the headache, but not the eye pain.  I have been up for four hours and still have eye discomfort.  I have not noticed any change in vision.  Should I be concerned.

Physicians maintain 24 hr/day call services for just questions like this. You should call your surgeon's call service and ask them.  As a generalization this type of pain would not be typical of laser surgery healing for a torn retina. It might be related to the flu.
