Eye pressure after cataract suregery - 58!

My 72 yr. old husband had cataract surgery on Tuesday.  On Wed. morning, he starting vomitting every 10 min. and had a bad headache.  I took him to surgeon and his eye pressure was 58!...they put him on eye drops (steroids) and the next day his pressure was down to 14.  I am concerned that this may impact the success of the surgery with such high pressure for hours before he was given the drops.  He had the other eye done last year and no problems.   The doctor told him today that because of the eye pressure being so high, his eye will be cloudy for about another week. Should I be worried.

It will likely be several weeks at least before the full effect, if any, if the IOP being that high will be. DIscuss it with your surgeon. The eye could make a full recovery but there is some chance of problems. Can't be more specific.
