Eye problems and lyme disesas

by llg332003, Jun 09, 2008 05:42PM
I don't have a question but I have a suggestion. Last year I had some sever dry eye problems come on suddenly along with eye pain. i have alss had some muslce fatigue, general fatigue, depression, rib pain, ear pain, sinus headaches, blurred vision, dizzyness, brain fog, mental confusion and more..... Anyway,  I see a lot of people writing in with similar symptoms. Please make sure that one of the diseases you request people to get tested for is LYME disease. These are the symptoms I had  and I knew about lyme already because my husband has it, so I got tested and it came out positive. Now, just because a LYME test comes out negative doesn't mean that you don't have it. THe tests are incredibly unrealiable and come up negative all of the time, like my husbands until he had his test done at a better lab.  THis is a very debilitating disease and has all kinds of symptoms that mimik other diseases such as MS, Parkinsons, Fibro and chronic fatigue. Find out from the Lyme disease organizations about what doctors are espeically trained in treating this disease. There are a lot of doctors who think that just because you don't get a bullseye rash that you don't have it but many many people do not show a rash.
Thanks
Laurie

Hi,

I am a communit leader, not a doctor. Dr. Hagan of the forum is aware of this disease.

Thanks so much for educating the forum memebers.

Dr. Hagan might respond to your post.

Dry eyes are extremely common and relatively speaking lyme's disease is rare. It would be a huge waste of money and time to test everyone with dry eyes for Lyme's disease IF THEY HAD NO OTHER SYMPTOMS OF LYME'S DISEASE.
