Eye twitching

by Red5400, Jun 14, 2009 06:46PM
Hello,
I am a 54 year old male who has recently undergone cataract surgery in both eyes. (3 months)
I have Acry-soft IOL's set to mono-vision.  Everything had been going well until about 3 days ago.  I recently have developed a twiching in my left (close vision ) eye that is intermittent.  It does not last long but is a bit unsettling.  It is a very small, rapid twitch which moves side to side.  It may coincide with computer work, although I have noticed it come on when I am outside.  I am wondering if anyone has had a similar issue, and what might be the cause.  I plan on calling my Opthamologist tomorrow, but it will likely not happen in her presence.  The car always runs fine when you take it to the mechanic.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dear Red5400,

Eye twitching may represent a spasm of a muscle on eyelids. I would recommend that you speak with your eyeMD about this.  It can be caused by stress, strain.  Does your mouth twitch too or just your eyelid?
