Eye vision drops due to blood clot

Hi,

Recently my mother- inlaw had slight fever, cough and cold. While coughing, suddenly vision dropped in one of her eye. When consulted with Doctor, she was told that it is due to blood clot and weak nerve. She is also a heart patient. Her age is around 55 yrs. Is it possible to dilute the blood clot? Will she able to get her vision back? Please help me .

That descripition "blood clot" can mean several things: branch or central retinal artery occlusion, branch or central retinal vein occlusions.  Some get well and vision returns to normal others lead to complete or almost complete blindness. You will need to get the exact DX and prognosis from her ophthalmologist.

A "weak nerve" is not a diagnosis and probably not related at all to the problem
