Eye vision problem

I'm having issues with one of my eyes. I see a flash of light in one eye that can last a couple of hours. It's almost like a camera flash in one eye. Usually more intense after I get out of the shower. Less intense at night time. I was wondering what the problem can be? I'm near sighted and I have been using glasses for over 15 years. This never happened to me before. Anyone with any info please post it. Thank you.

Thanks for the response.. I forgot to mention the eye that I'm having problems with has a hole in the back of the eye. My eye vision never was affected from the hole untill recently, I started noticing flashes of light and blurryness in that one eye. The flashing lights & blurryness can last for hours. I'm in the process of waiting for my medical insurance to get approved untill then I have to wait atleast a couple of weeks before I can make a appointment to see a Opthalmologist.

Dear Reese510,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD immediately.  This may represent traction on the retina and may be associated with retinal tears, vitreous detachment or a retinal detachment.
