Eyelid Lump or bump - top eye

My son Hisham is 6.5 yrs old and a year ago he had this white lump on the tip of his top eye lid where the eyelashes come out. The eye was lid was swollen for couple of days and no treatment was done. Later it reduced by itself and accumulated inside the eyelid and is visible until this day. He has no pain or irritation but we are not comfortable with the lump and are a little worried. Last week while playing with his little brother he had got hit on the same eyelid and now again the eyelid is swollen. After consulting the Opthalmologist, who has prescribed some syrup and ointment it has come donw, but still the lump is inside. Please advice how serious is this disease, some say that this may lead to cancer at a later stage. The Optalmologist states that is at all we do a surgery now, this may re-occur later. Please advice what we should do.

This is most likely a stye.  It will not lead to cancer.  Use warm compress four times per day.
