Eyes actually hurt and at time hard to keep open.

My eyes hurt!  I have had cataracts removed, no relief.  New expensive glasses, no relief. Diagnoisis of Macular Pucker but I don't think that is why my eyes actually hurt and I want to close them and sleep even when I awake from an 8-hr. sleep.  Close hobbies and reading are impossible.  I do wash my eyes with baby shampoo daily.  I do have cysts within the eye rims and sometimes on the eye. Otherwise I am in good health, do take cholestrol med and have it checked per doctors scheduled visits.  I am miserable and have been for a few years.  I need help and advise.

Dear kittysue,

I would recommend that you seek the care of your eyeMD to determine the possible cause. I would try to pay attention to the discomfort.  Is the discomfort severe and cause tearing or does it feel like you might have something in your eye? Is it worse upon awakening?  Were the glasses prescribed for distance or for close? Do you have a correction in your other eye and are your eyes balanced?  Is reading difficult in all light or just dim light?  It sounds as if you might have two issues: one causing the discomfort and the second, the lack of an adequate prescription for reading.
