Facial Parathesia and Pain with eyeglasses

For two years now I have been having difficulty wearing any eyeglasses.  I need them to read.  Any eyeglasses cause a numbness, cold feeling and eventually pain on my face around my eyes.  I try to cope by keeping my readers on my head and taking them on and off my face as I need them throughout the day.  I have tried contacts and they do not cause any discomfort but the correction made my distance sight so I couldn't drive.  I now use audiobooks because I enjoy reading.  I have seen an eye doctor and a neurologist and all was negative.  In the meantime, the symptoms are getting worse.
Thank you.

There really are only so many things you can do:

1. Keep trying to find a pair of glasses that are resonably comfortable.
2. Wear contacts maybe bifocal or mono-vision
3. Be Evaluated for referactive surgery.
4. Just wear glasses when you absolutely have to.
