Far-sighted and tired of it

Gracefully aging except for the eyes. Eyesight doesn't seem to be deteriorating but certainly need readers in less than full natural light.

I'd like to know what options are available to provide near sight without compromising (screwing up) my decent farsighted abilities.

The glasses are a wicked nuisance and the bifocal contacts provide lousy near AND far vision.

Crystal lens?
Any of the laser treatments known to help farsighted corrections?
Incantations?

There are no choices that are risk free, inexpensive and always work.

I personally do NOT recommend clear lens exchange for correction of presbyopia. Read all the problems people have when this is done for cataract surgery. Proceed at your own risk.

Any attempt to get away from glasses would have to use monovision where one eye sees at distance, the other eye reads and mid-range still requires glasses.

CK or conductive keratoplasty where the cornea is burned with electrode like divises is not permanent, doesn't always work has side effects and needs to be repeated every several years, the long term effects are not known and of course you don't see as well because you use onlyone eye for distance and one eye for near.

Take care of the health of your eyes and either stick with glasses or contacts.
